The recent escalation of violence between Israeli and Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip is increasing instability in an already-volatile Middle East.

The mounting regional animosities between Saudi Arabia and Iran also challenge the Biden administration’s developing Middle East policy while the escalation has highlighted domestic tensions within neighbouring countries like Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt.

This latest escalation will also put to the test the limits of the Arab-Israeli rapprochement as the Arab signatories of the Abraham Accords are facing the challenge of how to play a constructive role in the conflict.

In this event, experts discuss the regional implications of the Israel-Palestine conflict and how it represents an arena for competition between different actors in the region and beyond.
