2013 Year of Italian culture in the United States

The Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Embassy of Italy in Washington D.C. has officially designated 2013 as the year of Italian Culture in the United States. ”Anno della Cultura Italiana”.
Bellini Opera Theatre of Michigan and South West Florida Italian Opera Society started the year long journey communicating and promoting opera and classical music in Florida, Michigan, and Italy, with a tribute to musical giants such as: Monteverdi, Pergolesi, Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini, Leoncavallo and Mascagni.
SWF Italian Opera Society concluded the 2013 winter season with “Viva Florida & Vespucci 500” Viva Verdi 200, at the Mooring Auditorium in Naples Florida Monday April 29.        
The year of Italian Culture in the United States 2013 will continue in Michigan with several summer concerts, and festivals. Starting at the Italian Cultural Center in Clinton Twp. On Sunday June 2 performing for “Festa della Republica” July 19 20 21 Festa Italiana 2013 at Freedom Hill
From June 20   to December 19 at the Dearborn Centennial Library. On October 26 at Traverse City Opera House.
Artistic director, Dino Valle, along with president Rosolino Lo Duca, state that Italy has influenced the world in architecture, science, the arts, literature, cinema, food, music and above all opera.. It is in the world of opera “from Monteverdi to Verdi” that we will concentrate, said Rosolino Lo Duca and Dino Valle.
Our Concerts and Lecture focus on Bel Canto, opera, Italian Classics, and Neapolitan Songs. We hope to reach as many people as possible and feel their souls with joy, drama, emotions, and passion.
